The Vector

Cade was the one who started it all. Last Saturday I returned from running errands to find him on the couch crying-because his eyes hurt. When Cade has a fever his eyes always hurt. Dear husband doesn't seem to get that. He spent most of the day sleeping and whining. By Sunday he had a cough and runny nose. By Tuesday he was feeling wonderful and happy to pick on the sick ones. However, he still insisted that he was sick too. Cade is our resident hypochondiac. He has discovered that being sick is a wonderful way to get some extra loving...which is probably how I ended up ill...from doting on the petrie dish. After several days of arguing with him about why he in fact does not need medicine he is back to his usually charming self. We are so proud that he is finally learning to share and thank him for his gifts.

  1. that picture is awesome!
i wouldn't classify my son as a hypocondriac, BUT from the time he was small, when he gets sick he thinks he needs lots of medicine. may the bug leave your house soon.

  2. For some reasons I think pictures of sick kids are the best. You seem to grasp the real them.

  7. Cute photo, my stepson used to be really bad, but he's gotten a bit better. I have doted to much on my petri dish and the runny nose has started.

  11. Aww, that is SO sweet! Look at those rosy cheeks. The sickness is going around here, too. I'm the only one who hasn't gotten it, YET! My husband is the biggest complainer now.

  12. I'm a total germ-o-phobe . . . just call me The Aviator.

Oh, and I ate some of that same mac n cheese today . . . and I think I probably had that same look on my face when I passed out in cheesey goodness afterwards.

  13. Mmmm, I love carbs when I'm sick, too! Hence the reason I've lived on bread, cookies and chips this past week. Nothing comforts one's cooties like carbs.

  14. Aww, you can see the fever in his cheeks even. But love that he is cradling a box of mac and cheese...a man with priorities :)
